ABOUT US
Seme Teachers Training College (Seme TTC) is a public teacher-training institution located in West Seme Ward, Kisumu County. As the first and only TTC in the county, we play a vital role in shaping the next generation of professional educators for Kenya and beyond.
We provide high-quality, technology-driven, value-based teacher education that equips trainees with the competencies, character, and reflective skills needed to meet modern classroom needs.

Our History
Seme Teachers Training College was established through a strong partnership between community leadership and national educational priorities. The idea was championed by Hon. Dr. James Wambura Nyikal, who envisioned a transformative institution dedicated to Early Childhood and Primary Teacher Education.

The Ong’ere/Kaura community donated the land on which the college stands.NG-CDF Support:
NG-CDF Seme funded major infrastructure developments, including classrooms, hostels, and kitchen facilities.First Cohort (2021):
The college admitted its first group of 82 UDPTE diploma trainees—personally supported by the MP and through NG-CDF grants.Leadership:
The first principal, Mr. Chebogut Jonathan Kiprotich, was posted in September 2020, followed by the second and current principal, Madam Lorraine Mukoya, in July 2023.Board of Management (2022):
The inaugural BOM was formed under the leadership of Chairman Prof. Samuel Okuro.
Today, Seme TTC has grown into a thriving institution with over 528 trainees, 25 tutors, and 24 support staff, serving as a center of academic excellence and community empowerment.
